A concept created popular by Hollywood star Kevin Costner in the 1995 Blockbuster Waterworld, floating cities and people visiting by sea travel to one another, communities guarded by water gates and life on the open ocean appears to be the future of real estate as we will come to know it soon.

Tech Company, Oceanix creates the first prototype in Busan, utilising the hexagonal shape drawn from the structure of a honeycomb. Busan is home to 3.4 billion people and is expected to be partly underwater by 2030, so the motivation to enact a viable adaptability strategy as quickly as possible seems of greater interest than elsewhere.
